How the estimate works
The agency figure uses published UK medical chronology rates of £35–£58 per hour + VAT, assuming roughly 50 pages an hour for chronology preparation (reading, extracting, drafting) and 200 pages an hour for manual pagination and indexing. Real quotes vary — treat this as a sanity check, not a quotation.
The Med-Legal figure is simply the fixed price: a Chronology & Medical Summary is 1 document unit and an Indexed & Paginated Bundle is 4 units, at £25 per unit falling to £8 at volume — whether the records are 100 pages or 5,000.
