Is Med-Legal software, or a service where people write the chronology?

Software. You upload the medical records and the platform reads every page and generates a cited Chronology & Medical Summary, a verified Fact Ledger and an indexed, paginated bundle, usually within minutes. Nobody at Med-Legal reads your records or writes the chronology.

Med-Legal is unrelated to the earlier human-analyst medical-records business that used the med-legal.co.uk domain before 2026. That company's pages have been retired; if you followed an old link, you are on the current site.

Who is Med-Legal for?

Personal-injury and clinical-negligence solicitors, paralegals and costs teams in England and Wales, and medico-legal experts who want a cited chronology of the records before writing a report. What do I get back?

Three documents. A Chronology & Medical Summary in Word, with every fact cited to the document and page it came from. A Fact Ledger listing every extracted fact with its source page and verified quote. And an indexed, paginated, hyperlinked bundle in PDF, ready for the court file.

How much does it cost?

Pay as you go, per document, no subscription. £25 for one unit, down to £8 per unit in a pack of 25 (£200). A Chronology & Medical Summary is one unit whatever its page count; an Indexed & Paginated Bundle is four units. The first ten documents are free, with no card, up to two a day on a free account. How long does it take?

Most files come back in minutes. Very large scanned sets of one to two thousand pages take up to about an hour, because every page is read and every citation is checked. You are emailed when the document is ready, so you do not need to wait on the page.

How accurate is it, and how can I check it?

Every fact in the chronology carries the document and page it came from, and the quoted text is checked in code against that page before the document is produced. On real files around 99% of citations verify; anything that cannot be verified is withheld and flagged rather than guessed.

It is still an AI-assisted draft. A fee-earner or expert reviews it against the cited pages before it is used, and the platform reports what the records say without giving a medical opinion. See why every output passes a review gate.

Can it read scanned or handwritten records?

Yes. Scanned pages are read with optical character recognition. Dates that fail a sanity check, such as a date in the future, a date before the patient's birth, or a date the two reading passes disagree on, are withheld rather than guessed. Handwriting is read where it is legible; where it is not, the page is listed as unreadable rather than invented.

Where are the records processed, and how long are they kept?

On servers in the European Union (Germany), under the UK GDPR framework with special-category (health data) safeguards. Original uploads are deleted automatically shortly after processing, within 24 hours at most; the generated documents are kept for you to download. Is the bundle suitable for court?

The bundle is continuously paginated, indexed, bookmarked and hyperlinked, with records grouped by provider, built around the Pre-Action Protocol for Clinical Disputes and CPR practice on bundles. Do I need a subscription or a contract?

No. There is no subscription, no monthly minimum and no contract. You buy units when you need them and they do not expire.

How is Med-Legal different from ChronoLaw, or from a human chronology service?

ChronoLaw is also AI software but sells monthly subscriptions from £299; Med-Legal charges per document from £8 with no subscription.
